It had been a while since we saw blue sky early in the morning at Outer Sunset. In the attic studio Jay found by coincidence, against the backdrop of a giant canvas, I see the quiet silhouette of a beautiful artist. “When start painting a piece I take inspiration from clothing textiles and fabric colors from Italian brands like Missoni or Prada. As I continue painting, I often find myself changing directions unexpectedly in a way that brings dynamic change to the painting.” Trusting her instincts, she begins painting colors and shapes into small blocks. The gentle sounds of the brush put her dog Johny to sleep.
